Quilt Show- Guidelines
  1. Entry is open to all from any country.

  2. Registration for the Quilt Show will be on our partner site Townscript.

  3. All quilts entered for IQF 2019 must meet the following requirements:

    • Have three layers (backing, batting, and top) joined together with stitching or tying

    • Have a finished binding or facing on the edge of the quilt.

    • The quilt must have been completed in the 2 years leading up to the festival which means it must be made after January 2017.

  4. Categories for the Quilt show are

    1. Traditional Quilts

    2. Modern Quilts

    3. Art/ Innovative Quilts

    4. Novice Quilts

    5. Theme Quilts - “Dance of the Peacock”

  5. Finished size for categories 1 to 4 [mentioned above]

    1. The maximum finished size – no more than 9 ft [ 108 inches] on any side

    2. The minimum finished size – no less than 2 ft [24 inches] on any side

  6. Theme quilt – the quilt has to necessarily conform to any of the following finished sizes only: 

    • 4ft x 4ft

    • 3ft x 3ft

    • 4ft x 3ft or 3ft x 4ft

    • 2ft x 4ft or 4ft x 2ft

  7. You can enter up to two quilts per category.

  8. All the people who worked on the design or construction of the quilt, paid or not, must be credited (excluding basting assistance).

  9. Quilts for the show must arrive with labels. The label needs to be placed on the bottom left-hand corner, when the back of the quilt Is facing you. In the label, you are to include:

    1. Booking Id: which you will receive when you register your quilt

    2. Name of the Quilt

    3. Preferred Category

    4. Dimension of the quilt: in inches

  10. Labels should be in Fabric. The required information can be added using Permanent Marker Pens, Embroidered ​or Printed on Fabric.

  11. Quilts for the show must arrive with Sleeves.

  12.  Shipping- Quilt should be sealed in a clear plastic bag before before being placed in a carton or plastic courier cover and sent to the address mentioned in the email.

  13. All accepted quilts for show will be eligible to win the following awards: Best-of-Show, Judges’ Choice, Viewers’ Choice, Best Hand Quilting, and Best Machine Quilting.

  14. IQF reserves the right to divide or combine categories, move entries to more appropriate categories, and not to award all ribbons.

  15. IQF reserves the right to accept or reject any quilt for display.

  16. IQF reserves the right to reject any quilts that are in poor condition when received and seen in person. Examples include, but are not limited to, torn fabric, stained fabric, poor craftsmanship or an unfinished quilt.  

  17. IQF reserves the right to reject any quilt it deems to be misrepresented in the photos during the entry process.

  18. IQF reserves the right to reject or disqualify any quilt in which IQF deems design credit to be misrepresented. If this misrepresentation is discovered after the show and the quilt was awarded, the winner forfeits all ribbons and cash prizes.

  19. Any quilt that is rejected by IQF will be returned to the entrant and will not be displayed in the exhibit, entered into IQF, judged or eligible for ribbons or cash prizes.

  20. Employees of sponsors are not eligible to win an award or prize sponsored by their employer.

  21. The decisions of the show organizers and judges are final.

  22. All State and Central taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners.

  23. Online entries need to be accompanied by a photo of the Entry Quilt.

  24. Entrants to the show need to accept the Terms & Conditions

  25. Fee

    • Entry fee for the Quilt Show is INR 500 per Quilt. Entry fee is non-refundable.

    • Shipping and insurance charges to the venue and back need to be borne by the entrant.

    • IQF will cover insurance for the period 7th Jan to 2nd Feb, 2019 for up to Rs.4000 per quilt while in IQF possession at the venue and pre-event venue.

    • Insurance during transport needs to be borne by the entrant.

  26. Important Dates

    1. Entry – Registration

      • Start date: 1 Sep 18

      • End date: 31 Dec 18

    2. Acceptance of quilt

      • Start date: 7 Jan 2019

      • End date: 20 Jan 2019

  27. On completion of registration, address for sending the quilts will be intimated by eMail.
