Day 1 – 19 Jan, Thursday -  Arrive in Ahmedabad by own means. The tour starts post lunch.  We visit the House of Mangaldas which has a textile gallery showcasing the family collection of antique Indian textiles. We go on a Heritage Walk in the evening to explore the city. O/n Ahmedabad.


Day 2 -20 Jan, Sunday -  Forenoon we take a guided tour of the  Calico Museum. This is THE PREMIER textile museum of India known for its antique and comprehensive collection of Indian textiles. Later shopping in Ahmedabad . O/n Ahmedabad


Day 3 - 21 Jan, Monday - Drive to Kutch. We visit the village near our resort where the ladies demonstrate the different types of stitches in Kutchi embroidery. Enjoy the evening festivities at Rann of Kutch on a full moon night when the White desert is most magnificent. O/n stay in Bhungas in the resort.


Day 4 - 22 Jan, Tuesday - Today we have a full day workshop on Rabari Dhadki (quilt) at Kala Raksha.  O/n in hotel in Bhuj.


Day 5 – 23 Jan, Wednesday We spend the forenoon in an Ajrak block printing workshop. Ajrak is the name of a block printed cloth with deep crimson red and indigo blue background, bearing symmetrical patterns with interspersed unprinted sparkling white motifs. An ancient craft, the history of the Ajrak can be traced back to the civilizations of the Indus Valley that existed around 2500 BC-1500 BC  


In the afternoon we visit a Mashroo silk weaving village. The Mashroo textile was woven for Muslim communities, who believed that silk should not touch a person’s skin.  Crafting a solution that enabled people to honor this belief while still appearing dressed in the finest clothing, weavers mixed silk and cotton threads to create a textile that was simple cotton on one side and  rich silk on the other. Day 6 – 24 Jan, Thursday   - Flight to Chennai (through Mumbai) to participate in the India Quilt Festival.

  • Any extra beverages out of the group buffet, drinks, tips, porterage, laundry, etc

  • Difference in cost arising due to changes in TAX by the Government. Same will be collected on arrival.

  • Difference in cost arising due to extra use of vehicle other than the given schedule

  • Difference in cost arising due to change in program effected in lieu of unavoidable circumstances such as political unrest, natural calamities – the same has to be paid before extra service commencement.


25% advance will be required to process the booking. Balance to be paid 90 days prior to start date of tour.


All cancellations to be communicated by email and will attract cancellation charges as follows:

If cancelled,

  • 120 days prior to tour date -  15% of the tour cost

  • 120 – 90 days – 25% of tour cost

  • 90 – 45 days – 75% of tour cost

  • Less than 45 days – 100% of tour cost will be levied as cancellation charges


  • Textile activities in villages as included in the itinerary are spontaneous. So there may be times when the rural artisans are not available due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will do our best to ensure you experience the activity with the available resources to the best of our ability.

  • Domestic airfares included in the cost are current. In case there is a sharp change in the fares at the time of booking the air tickets, the difference will be factored into the given tour cost.

  • The costing has been done based on a minimum 8 paying pax travelling together. Any reduction to this number will incur increase in tour cost.

  • Any upgrade in the hotel room (but in the same hotel) can be done at additional cost

  • Hotel rooms will be blocked with a time limit for confirmation after the given dates are finalised from your end.

  • The given itinerary is a framework of the guests’ textile experience in India. Although we will do our utmost to deliver services as per the given itinerary, there may be instances when some services may have to be shuffled due to existing conditions / developments. We request the guests to kindly cooperate in case of such changes as our strong aim to deliver the best textile experience will remain unchanged.
