Day 1 – 28 Jan, Monday – We board the 0545 hrs flight to Madurai to reach at 0720 hrs. On arrival, have breakfast and drive to Karaikudi (2 hrs). Check into heritage bungalow stay at The Bangla. Spend the day exploring the crafts of the Chettiar community including weaving and basket making. Experience the rich cuisine and lifestyle of this merchant community of Tamilnadu. O/n Karaikudi.


Day 2 -29 Jan, Tuesday -  After breakfast, drive to Madurai, stopping enroute to interact with villagers at work. In Madurai we visit villages where organic cotton farming of indigenous varieties is done. Evening visit the Meenakshi temple. O/n Madurai.


Day 3 - 30 Jan, Wednesday – This morning visit Gandhi Gramam to see the traditional Sungudi saree making. From here we proceed to Munnar.

Day 4 - 31 Jan, Thursday – Visit Aranya Naturals where Batik, Shibori, Tie and Dye, Mordant dyeing are done using natural dyes. Relax in our beautiful resort in the evening. O/n Munnar.


Day 5 – 1 Feb, Friday – After breakfast, drive through roads winding around tea gardens to the backwaters. Check into the houseboat at lunchtime. Enjoy the cruise on the backwaters which are dotted with villages on tiny islands. Small canoes (kettuvallom) are the basic mode of transport here. The occupations of the people range from farming on fields that remain submerged most of the time, toddy tapping, land reclamation (which is the basic need), fishing, boat making, coir making etc. You could opt for short hikes through these villages. Dinner on board the houseboat. O/n houseboat.


Day 6 – 2 Feb, Saturday – After breakfast, check out of houseboat and drive to Cochin. Visit the Mattancherry Palace, St.Francis Church and Jewish Synagogue. After lunch, proceed to Cochin International airport for departure flight.

  • Difference in cost arising due to changes in TAX by the Government. Same will be collected on arrival.

  • Difference in cost arising due to extra use of vehicle other than the given schedule

  • Difference in cost arising due to change in program effected in lieu of unavoidable circumstances such as political unrest, natural calamities – the same has to be paid before extra service commencement.


25% advance will be required to process the booking. Balance to be paid 90 days prior to start date of tour.


All cancellations to be communicated by email and will attract cancellation charges as follows:

If cancelled,

  • 120 days prior to tour date -  15% of the tour cost

  • 120 – 90 days – 25% of tour cost

  • 90 – 45 days – 75% of tour cost

  • Less than 45 days – 100% of tour cost will be levied as cancellation charges



  • Textile activities in villages as included in the itinerary are spontaneous. So there may be times when the rural artisans are not available due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will do our best to ensure you experience the activity with the available resources to the best of our ability.

  • Domestic airfares included in the cost are current. In case there is a sharp change in the fares at the time of booking the air tickets, the difference will be factored into the given tour cost.

  • The costing has been done based on a minimum 8 paying pax travelling together. Any reduction to this number will incur increase in tour cost.

  • Any upgrade in the hotel room (but in the same hotel) can be done at additional cost

  • Hotel rooms will be blocked with a time limit for confirmation after the given dates are finalised from your end.

  • The given itinerary is a framework of the guests’ textile experience in India. Although we will do our utmost to deliver services as per the given itinerary, there may be instances when some services may have to be shuffled due to existing conditions / developments. We request the guests to kindly cooperate in case of such changes as our strong aim to deliver the best textile experience will remain unchanged.
