Convex Illusions

Convex illusion is a very simple pieced design with a very dramatic optical illusion. It is easily created by using shapes and shaded fabric colors. The entire quilt is machine pieced and I quilted it on a domestic machine using holographic and metallic variegated thread. For this pattern, I did simple quilting stitches which enhanced the optical illusion in the center. For the embellishment, I used around 800- 1000 crystals. Making this quilt has taught me how to use various fabric colors to bring out a 3D optical illusion which is a beauty to the eyes.
