About the Class
Adopt a keen eye for colour as you make a modern, minimally designed quilt, improv style. It’s a no-fuss, no-waste style of patchwork that uses bands of scrap fabric in a clean, geometric layout without any measurements.
Requirements
Generic
Sewing machine & matching thread.
Rotary cutter, Quilting ruler, Cutting mat.
Pins, Scissors, Iron, Ironing board.
Batting and fabric for backing & binding.
Needle and thread for hand sewing.
Specific
Mood board - put together a colour palette or find an image/photograph with colours that you love and are pleasing to the eye. This palette will be your guide to putting fabrics together in interesting ways.
Cloth scraps/fabrics - in the same colourway as your palette in cotton/ silk/ linen. Since colour will be a guiding factor in the design of your mini-quilt, avoid large, bold prints and motifs. Solids will work well for our purpose.
